Dharamshala to Host ASEAN-India Youth Summit in May 2023
The Union Ministry of External Affairs has informed the district administration that the Dharamshala Asian-India Youth Summit will be held in May 2023. The summit will bring together 100 young people from Asian countries to strengthen the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The venue is currently being finalized.
Strengthening ASEAN-India Partnership in the Indo-Pacific
The ASEAN-India Youth Summit is being organized by the Government of India in collaboration with India Foundation and ASEAN Foundation. This year’s theme is “Strengthening the ASEAN-India Partnership in the Indo-Pacific,” and it will focus on physical, economic, digital, and socio-cultural connectivity between ASEAN and India. Participants from diverse backgrounds including politics, media, think tanks, academia, business, science, and technology will attend.
Previous Editions Held in Different Parts of India
The previous three editions of the ASEAN-India Youth Summit were held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, in August 2017, in Guwahati, Assam, in February 2019, and in June 2022. The fourth edition will be held in different parts of the country, with Hyderabad and Dharamshala being the main venues. The delegation of each ASEAN member state will showcase their country’s history, politics, culture, and other notable aspects.
