Sanskrit and Hindi Teachers in Government Schools Now Eligible for TGT Designation
Good news for Sanskrit and Hindi teachers in government schools in the state! The Department of Elementary Education has issued clear orders that LT and Shastri’s TET will also be valid for these subjects, and based on this, teachers will be eligible for the TGT designation.

Confusion Clarified
Previously, there was confusion in many districts regarding whether TET was mandatory for TGT designation. But now, it has been clarified that Shastri and LT candidates for TGT designation who have the qualification of TET and B.Ed will be given this designation. The TET will be recognized for the concerned subject only.
Clearing Up Previous Uncertainty
The announcement of giving TGT designation to all LT, Shastri, and Sanskrit teachers in government schools of the state was made by the previous BJP government, but there were no clear orders on the basis of which these teachers would receive this designation. Now, the Department of Elementary Education has issued clear orders that if one has cleared TET in their subject, they will be given the designation of TGT.
Financial Benefits Still Pending
Although the notification to give financial benefits to the teachers has not yet been issued along with the designation, the teachers who have received the TGT designation are demanding financial benefits along with it. In response, all the teachers have decided to submit a memorandum to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on March 1, requesting that the government provide all kinds of financial benefits to them along with the designation.
